SHELLED HAZELNUT

It is separated into three groups
a)Round shelled hazelnut
These are the shelled hazelnuts that are rounded-shaped and have similar or equal diameter- size proportion
b)Jagged shelled hazelnut
These are the shelled hazelnuts of which size are a little more than their diameters
c)Other shelled hazelnuts
These are the shelled hazelnut kinds that are the outside of round and jagged definitions.
The sizes of shelled hazelnut
a) Very good-sized, over than 18 mm
b) Good-sized, over than 16mm
c) Medium between 13-16 mm
d) Small (thin), under 13mm
e) Hazelnuts including all sizes in a natural proportion according to unsorted (natural) crop’s size

NATURAL HAZELNUT

These are the endocarps that are extracted from solid peel of shelled hazelnuts. Unshelled hazelnuts are prepared as extra, first and second quality. The minimum diameter of extra and first quality hazelnuts is 9 mm. The hazelnuts under this diameter are called as thin or pikola (6-9mm.) hazelnut. Extra and first quality hazelnuts are prepared in the sizes below in accordance with buyer’s demand:

a) 13-15 mm b) 11-13 mm c) over 11 mm
